Lynbrook Restorative Therapy and Nursing, the South shore’s premier skilled nursing facility, is pleased to announce that they have recently earned a Five-Star Quality Rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The CMS Five-Star Quality Rating System assigns skilled nursing facilities nationwide with a rating between one and five stars. The CMS five-star rating system was created to help consumers, their families, and caregivers compare nursing homes more easily. CMS star ratings are based upon quality measures in both long- and short-term nursing care. The data for the ratings come from the last three years of health inspections, the average number of hours of care provided to each resident, overall number of staff compared to residents, fire safety inspections, Family and Resident Interviews, including participation in resident and family councils, and proximity to a hospital, and more than 16 physical and clinical quality measures of the physical, psychological, emotional and mental health of residents.
Lynbrook Restorative’s Administrator, Steven A. Rohinsky shared the news with his staff last week “I am proud to have such caring and dedicated staff in each and every department. Being rated Five Stars by CMS not only speaks to positive patient outcomes, and clinical excellence, but it also reflects our continued commitment each and every day to provide the highest quality of care for our residents, and our community.”
The ratings are posted on the Medicare website, www.medicare.gov.
